I had to post this...
Dear Daddy, Thank you for changing my mind. I love you. Love: Sarah
It is a note that Sarah wrote to Brad after she had had a particularly negative attitude one morning last week and was sent to her room for some time out. Brad spent some time talking to her about her attitude and the effects that it has on everything. I came downstairs a little while after and she covered up a note that she was writing. Knowing that I knew I'd see it eventually I didn't ask her about it but saw it on the kitchen counter a couple of hours later.
Now, I don't know about you, but I don't ever remember actually thanking my parents for "helping" me with my attitude or correcting wrong behaviour. Yesterday again I helped her calm down when she was freaking out after accidentally swallowing a bead and she walked away saying, "Thanks mom for helping me not freak out."
And so, all this has me thinking... have I ever written a thank-you note to my Heavenly Father for the discipline and correction He gives me? For helping me to change my attitude? The answer is no... but maybe I'll start.
Phillipians 1:6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
And to my wonderful parents who disciplined me and tried to help me change my attitude on too many occasions to count... thank you...
