Speaking of family time, we went to get our Christmas tree on the weekend as a family. As is tradition, we went out to cut down our own tree this year and had a really great time together. We took advantage of the fact that it wasn't raining on Sunday afternoon, and headed into Aldergrove to the tree farm.

Too Busy...
... does not even accurately describe my life these days. Yesterday before 4pm I had baked and iced birthday cupcakes, set a nice dinner table, washed, dried, and folded 5 loads of laundry, tidied the entire house, done school drop-off and pick-up, did 2 hours of my transcription work, and gone to Superstore to get a few groceries for the dinner and bought a birthday present too... yeah, ask me what kind of mom I was yesterday... or no, don't ask me that. We had Brad's family over for birthday dinner for Autumn and Mom Toews. Thankfully Brad came home on the earlier side and was able to do all the dinner prep while I did Superstore and picked Sarah up. We had a really nice dinner and Autumn was thrilled with the new digital camera she got from Grandma and Grandpa and the lipsticks from Uncle Jake and Auntie Tara.
Anyway, there are about a million little things on my list of "to dos", and all of them have to be done before my surgery on the 17th. Oi! On the list for tomorrow is making peanut butter balls for a cookie exchange, doing the billing at the doctor's office and making goody bags, a banner, and picture favors for Autumn's birthday party on Saturday. I am having to really concentrate on getting in quality time with the kids in the midst of it all.

We usually go to Murphy's Tree Farm but found upon arrival that they are no longer a "U Cut" farm, so we turned around and headed to Frosty's Tree Farm which we really liked. It was a great family atmosphere and nice and clean too! Once we found "the one", Rylan helped Brad cut it down with the saw. It was so fun to see the boys doing the blue job while all of us girls looked on!
Then all of the kids helped Brad haul the tree out of the "forest" while I carted Carly.
The kids with their tree, you know the one that goes in the playroom with all the colored lights, homemade ornaments and tinsel... yep, that's the one...
The owner then offered to take a family pic with our tree which I thought turned out pretty well.
After our tree getting, we headed over to our friend's house and had pizza and decorated gingerbread houses as families... so fun, I hope to make that a Christmas tradition too.
Okay, that's it for now... off to cross something else off of the list, I just heard my dear husband come in the door after doing my errands... love him. Hope to post soon with advent calendar and decorated house/tree pics.

Oooh, I get the busy thing! So much we want to fit in, but not enough hours in the day. Hoping tomorrow will be a good day for ticking some things off my list, as day wasn't!
Getting your tree looks fun. We're looking for a new place to go this year. I wonder how long it would take us to get to Aldergrove. Can I ask how expensive they were?
Like the new header, by the way! Gorgeous family!
